Our experienced counsellors support you through every step of the UCAS application process, from selecting the right course and university to crafting a strong personal statement and preparing for Clearing and Adjustment.
We understand that every applicant’s journey is unique. Whether you’re applying for your first degree or returning to university after a career break, our team offers personalised, practical, and friendly advice to help you make confident decisions about your future.

Types of Student

Traditional students are those who progress directly from school into higher education, usually between the ages of 18 and 21. They typically complete A-Levels, BTECs, or the International Baccalaureate (IB) before applying to university through the UCAS system.

These students follow the standard academic pathway and focus on achieving the grades and qualifications required for their chosen courses. They often plan their studies and university applications around the structured timelines set by schools and universities.

Mature students are individuals aged 21 or over who return to higher education after a break, often bringing valuable life or work experience. Many may not hold traditional academic qualifications such as A-Levels but can still access university through alternative pathways, including Access to HE courses, foundation programmes, or relevant professional experience.

These students often balance study with other commitments and bring a diverse perspective to university life, enriching classroom discussions and contributing practical insights from their personal and professional backgrounds.
